About Norwalk, California

Norwalk is the 58th most populated city in California with as estimated population of 105,200. It was founded in the late 19th century and was incorporated as a city in 1957. It has a total land area of 10 square miles of which 9.707 miles is land and 0.039 miles is water. Norwalk is located 17 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles and is a part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. It is bordered by Santa Fe Springs to the north and east, Cerritos and Artesia to the south, Downey to the northwest, and Bellflower to the southwest.

The city of Norwalk started out as the original land of the Shoshonean – a native American tribe. In the years that followed, the city grew due to it being strategically located on the El Camino Real Trail and was then named North Walk.

Today, Norwalk is primarily a residential city, but it can also be a great place for outdoor activities and enjoying the vast history of the city such as the Anaheim Branch Railroad line.

There are plenty of nature parks found all over Norwalk where you are free to explore and be one with the serene atmosphere of the city.
