La Quinta is a resort city located in Riverside County, California. The city has a population of 38,000, according to the 2010 census. La Quinta is in Coachella Valley and is relatively close to major cities, including Cathedral City, Indio, Palm Desert, and Palm Springs. The city has a total area of 35.6 square miles, of which 35.1 square miles is land and 0.4 square miles is water.
La Quinta enjoys healthy tourism, particularly during the cold winter months. The most popular industry is golfing, and the city has more than 20 golf courses, including the world-famous PGA West, which hosted prestigious tournaments such as Legends of the Golf, and the PGA Tour Qualifying School.
