About Lake Elsinore, California

Lake Elsinore is a city on the western part of Riverside County that lies on the shore of Lake Elsinore. The lake is a natural freshwater lake that is 3,000 acres in size. The city has a population of 60,000 as of 2017 census.

Lake Elsinore has a total area of 41.7 square miles, of which 36.2 square miles is land, and 5.5 square miles is water. It is bordered by the Elsinore Mountains to the west, which is a part of the Santa Ana Mountain Range.

The city experiences hot and almost rainless summers and mild, wetter winters. On average, the hottest month is in July. It’s highest recorded temperature was 118 degrees Fahrenheit in 1960. The coldest month is December. The lowest recorded temperature was 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
