About San Jacinto, California
San Jacinto is a city in Riverside County that was named after Saint Hyacinth and is located at the north end of the San Jacinto Valley. The city has a population of 45,000 according to the 2010 census. It was founded in 1870 and was incorporated on April 20, 1888; thus, making it one of the oldest cities in Riverside County.
San Jacinto has a total land area of 26.1 square miles, of which 25.7 square miles is land and 0.4 square miles is water. The San Jacinto reservoir is an artificial lake that is used as a basin for the San Diego Aqueduct.
The city is known for Mt. San Jacinto College, a community college that was founded in 1965. San Jacinto will also be the eastern end of the Mid County Parkway, a planned route that will connect to the city of Perris.
San Jacinto is known for Soboba Casino, a gaming casino owned and operated by Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians.
