About Capistrano Beach, California

Capistrano Beach, also known as Capo Beach, is a coastal neighbourhood in the city of Dana Point in Orange County, California. It is bordered by San Clemente to the south and Doheny State Beach to the north.

Capistrano Beach’s charming small town atmosphere and a myriad of recreational opportunities have christened it a viable vacation destination. Branching off from the city of Dana Point, “Capo Beach” is also bordered on by the vivacious Laguna Beach to the north and San Clemente to the south. As one of the few remaining “beach towns” in the busy Orange County area, Capo Beach has (impressively) avoided much of the commercialization common to the area. This makes for a great, uncongested stay.

Homes in Capistrano Beach range from beach cottages to some of the finest real estate in Orange County. Many multimillion-dollar homes can be found in the area, with some situated atop a cliff overlooking Coast Highway and the Capistrano Beach Park below. Several celebrities live in the town area, notably on Beach Road, where Hobie Alter conceived of the popular Hobie Cat catamaran. There are modest, older homes as well situated a little farther from the shore.

Capistrano Beach Park is the main beach in the community of Capistrano Beach in Dana Point, CA. Surfing is popular at Capistrano Beach Park when the waves break in the summer. The entrance to the parking lot is located at Coast Highway and Palisades Drive.
