With a population of 208,881 as of 2019, Oxnard is the most populous city in Ventura County and the 22nd most populous city in California. As the largest city in the county with a population of more than 210,000, Oxnard combines its beautiful coastal setting and small-town charm with its position as a hub for manufacturing, agriculture and defense. Incorporated in 1903 as a small agricultural community, Oxnard today is a vibrant and diverse city that celebrates its heritage, multiculturalism and natural beauty while proactively developing a prosperous, innovative and healthy future for residents, businesses and visitors.

Oxnard is home to miles of pristine white sand beaches, electric nightlife, some of the best taquerias in the state, historic Victorian era architecture, the California Strawberry Festival, and an expansively picturesque harbor that serves as the closest access point to the Channel Islands National Park. Rich in the boxing tradition, Oxnard even has an appropriate nickname – “Boxnard.” Oxnard is a national hub for boxing and is home to many amateur and professional boxers, some of whom have been born and raised (Fernando Vargas, Hugo Centeno Jr., Robert/Mikey Garcia) within the city limits, and others who have moved to Oxnard specifically to train (Victor Ortiz, Vasyl Lomachenko).
