About Corona, California
The City of Corona is located approximately 45 miles southeast of Los Angeles and only 30 miles from Newport Beach and has become a bedroom community for Orange County and LA. The City limits encompass 39.2 square miles and the population is approximately 159,132. A city whose heritage spans more than a century, Corona has emerged as an ethnically diverse community, where a significant percentage of the population is made up of young, well-educated families. Its proximity to the coast and big cities has made it an attractive place for new homeowners, young families and companies.
Corona is near the Cleveland National Forest and is the gateway to the region that is known as the “Inland Empire.” Corona weather is characterized by hot summers and warm winters. Summer daily temperatures average in the 90s and winter daily temperatures average in the 60s and 70s. The Corona community boasts many amenities that provide a first-rate quality of life for residents. The City has more than 394 acres of parks, with sports fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, tennis courts, two skateparks and an outdoor pool.
The Corona Public Library and the Fender Museum of Music and the Arts provide cultural and educational programming, and the Senior Center is a hub of activity with programs, workshops and social gatherings. The City also operates a recreational airport. The Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa and the Pole Position Raceway provide relaxation and entertainment to residents and visitors alike.
Corona’s industrial base has played an important role in the growth of the City and its employee base. There are more than 42,000 jobs within the city of Corona and there is a workforce of more than 84,000. With retail and commercial areas are expanding and office development is booming, Corona now has more than 34 million square feet of industrial space and more than 3 million square feet of office space existing, under construction, or planned. The local Corona-Norco School District, Corona Regional Medical Center, Actavis, Fender, The City of Corona and All American Asphalt are all major employers in the city.
