About Chula Vista, California

Chula Vista is the second largest city in the San Diego metropolitan area, the seventh largest city in Southern California, the fourteenth largest city in the state of California, and the 76th-largest city in the United States. Incorporated in 1911, the population now climbs over 261,000.

Chula Vista means “beautiful view” and there is more to see and do than you can imagine. Located only seven miles from downtown San Diego, Chula Vista features safe and affordable hotels near family entertainment and exciting recreation destinations. Also, only 7 miles from the Mexican border in the South Bay region of the metropolitan area, the City is at the center of one of the richest economic and culturally diverse zones in the United States. Chula Vista is very well-known because of its scenic location between the San Diego Bay and coastal mountain foothills.

Residents and visitors enjoy the award-winning nature center, a kayak or row in the bay, or boating from the large marina. Concerts are a major occurrence at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre, San Diego’s premier outdoor music venue. Knott’s Soak City Water Park allows people to cool off in the summer and Team USA’s best train at the Elite Athlete Training Center. Chula Vista offers great year-round weather, miles of trails, coastline, mountains and open space beckon birders, hikers, cyclists and parachute enthusiasts from the bay to lakes.

Although the city is best known for being a bedroom community, some large employers are located in Chula Vista, such as United Technologies Aerospace Systems, Goodrich Aerostructures and Scripps Memorial Hospital. Source: Wikipedia
