Air Combat USA, located in the City of Santa Ana, is the first civilian dog fighting school in the United States. It is the world’s biggest and most popular air combat school, with over 20 years of expertise and over 50,000 guest pilots flown. Several television programs have featured the school, such as the Apprentice and Good Morning America. Air Combat USA  work hand-in-hand with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other governing bodies to determine the parameters and develop safety criteria that govern the air combat business as the industry leader.

More About Air Combat USA

  • Using a patented tracking system that validates an air-to-air “kill,” the school sets the bar for program design and execution (developed by Captain Mike Blackstone, founder of Air Combat USA)
  • Fly actual military fighter planes in the cockpit with certified fighter pilots. Additionally, you get to fly the plane 90 percent of the time!

Flight Programs

From armchair to ace, you’ll learn tactical moves matched to your level of expertise, talent, and aggressiveness during your ground school.

1. Ground School

In preparation for your journey, the guest-pilot is outfitted with a flight suit, helmet, and parachute. Throughout ground school, you will learn the tactical tactics that will help you gain the best performance during your flight. The Air Combat USA multiphase program’s integrity is built on highly experienced instructor pilots and a tried-and-true course framework.

2. Pre-Briefing

From armchair to ace, each mission is suited to your experience level, skill, and tenacity. The training is designed to provide you a full fighter pilot experience, whether you enroll in Phase I or all 4 phases.

3. Taking the Controls

Now it’s time to pull back the canopy and join your teacher pilot in the cockpit of the SIAI Marchetti aircraft. This military aircraft’s side-by-side seating is distinct, allowing you to spend more time at the controls than tandem-style front/back seating. You may fly the plane up to 90 percent of the time.

4. Post-flight Debriefing

When you get back to base after your flight, we’ll play back the videos from each aircraft at the same time so you can replay your kills and see the dogfights through the eyes of your opponent. Your instructor pilot makes recommendations and connects the flight activities to ground school theory, providing a better understanding of the art of aerial fighting.
